يجمع هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه رسالتين من تأليف "محمد علي الحسيني" الأولى جاءت بعنوان "دموع الأبرار على مصاب أبي الأحرار" وهي تحتوي على عدد كبير من القصائد الحسينية مع شرحها، وعلى ترجمة لسيرة أهل بيت الحسين عليهم السلام وأصحابه والأماكن التي لها علاقة بواقعة عاشوراء، وأعداء الحسين عليه السلام الذين ارتكبوا هذه الجريمة النكراء. كما وتحتوي الرسالة على بحوث متنوعة تعالج مواضيع مختلفة كالنبوة والإمامة وبعض المفاهيم الإسلامية كالدعاء وتهذيب النفوس والأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر. أما الرسالة الثانية فهي بعنوان "شهادة آل هاشم" فتحتوي على سردٍ لتفاصيل واقعة كربلاء.
