"الأثر الفلسفي" كتاب نال به مؤلفه درجة الدكتوراه في الفلسفة الإسلامية من كلية دار العلوم في جامعة القاهرة برتبة الشرف الأولى، ويأتي ضمن مشروع (مئة رسالة جامعية سورية) التي تعنى دار النوادر بنشرها.
قام المؤلف في هذا الكتاب بالكشف عن الأثر الفلسفي في التفسير، وعن علاقة التفسير بالفلسفة، ومدى تأثر المفسرين بها ـ سواء بالقبول أو الرفض ـ. فبدأ بتعريف الفلسفة عند اللغويين والفلاسفة، وذكر صلتها بالعلوم الشرعية. ثم أتبع ذلك بتعريف التفسير، وذكر الشروط والضوابط التي يجب على المفسر مراعاتها عند تفسيره كلام الله.
دار موضوع الكتاب حول النقاط الفلسفية الأساسية التالية: الإلهيات، والعالم، والإنسان. ففي الإلهيات: تكلم عن أدلة وجود الله، وكذلك الأسماء والصفات الإلهية. وفي العالم: تكلم عن أدلة خلق العالم وحدوثه، وفنائه، وبطلان نظرية قِدَمِه، وتحدث عن عالم الأفلاك والكواكب، ثم أتبعها بالحديث عن العالم العلوي كالعرش، والكرسي، والملائكة. وفي الإنسان: قام بتعريف النفس الإنسانية، وذكر علاقتها مع البدن، ثم تكلم عن المعرفة الإنسانية، والأخلاق والفضائل الإنسانية، والسعادة.
وتكلم أخيراً عن حرية الإنسان، وعن علاقة أفعاله بالقضاء والقدر، وبَيَّن مسألة الجبر والاختيار في ذلك، وأتبع ذلك بتعريف النبوة وذكر دلائلها، وبذلك تتم مباحث الكتاب وفصوله.
