لهذا وذاك اختارت هذه الدراسة التطبيقية المهمة للدكتور علي عواد عنواناً دقيقاً يحيل على إشكالية منهجية تجمع بين التقانة السردية / الزمنية بوصفها وسيلةً أدبيةً ناقلةً للمعرفة السردية وبين البعد الجمالي لهذه الوسيلة المؤسسة على وعي سردي / بلاغي، فمسألة توظيف الزمن في النص الروائي من المسائل الجمالية البارزة التي تنهض على مشروع معرفي / ثقافي انطلق منه (إبراهيم الكوني) عند تشكيل رباعيته الشهيرة التي تؤرخ لثنائيات متعددة لعل من أبرزها ما يتعلق بالزمن اللامحدود، والفناء والخلود، والضعف والقوة، والإنسان والطبيعة، وغيرها من الثنائيات الفكرية الإنسانية التي تحاول فك لغز الحياة.
