هذا الكتاب هو ترجمة لثلاثة أقسام مهمة، الأول بعنوان "تطور هيجل الفلسفي" وهو عبارة عن دراسة ممتعة تبها ريتشادر كرونر كمقدمة لترجمة "نوكس" للكتابات اللاهوتية المبكرة لهيجل. والقسم الثاني لفردريك كوبلستون مؤرخ الفلسفة الشهير بعنوان "المذاهب المثالية بعد كانط" أما القسم الثالث فعنوانه "من كانط إلى هيجل" لروبرت سولمون.
ولقد وجدنا أن هذه الدراسات الثلاثة تعالج تطور هيجل الروحي، وتعرض للمناخ الفكري الذي نمت فيه هذه العقلية الجبارة، وأردنا من نشرها أن يستفيد القارئ منها، وأن نضم جديداً للمكتبة العربية الهيجلية.
