مع مقطوعات غراء من أدب الولاء للشاعر المؤمن والمحدث الثقة سفيان بن مصعب العبدي، وهو من أجلاء أصحاب الإمام الصادق (عليه السَّلام). ومما يميز شعره – رضوان الله عليه – تضمينه لمفاد النصوص الشرعية الواردة في مقامات أهل البيت – عليهم السَّلام وتأييد الإمام الصادق – عليه السَّلام – له. قال الشيخ الأميني قدس سره في الجزء الثاني من موسوعته القيمة الغدير وضمن ترجمته لهذا الشاعر العالم: عده شيخ الطايفة في رجاله من أصحاب الإمام الصادق (عليه السَّلام) ولم تك صحبته مجرد ألفة معه، أو محض اختلاف إليه، أو أن عصرا واحدا يجمعهما لكنه حظي بزلفة عنده منبعثة عن صميم الود وخالص الولاء، وإيمان لا يشوبه أي شائبة حتي أمر الإمام الصادق (عليه السَّلام) شيعته بتعليم شعره أولادهم وقال: " إنه على دين الله " . كما رواه الكشي في رجاله بإسناده عن سماعة قال: قال أبو عبدالله (عليه السَّلام): " يا معشر.الشيعة علموا أولادكم شعر العبدي فإنه على دين الله " . وينم عن صدق لهجته، واستقامة طريقته في شعره، وسلامة معانيه عن أي مغمز، أمر الإمام (عليه السَّلام) إياه بنظم ما تنوح به النساء في المأتم كما رواه الكشي في رجاله أيضاً: وكان يأخذ الحديث عن الصادق (عليه السَّلام) في مناقب العترة الطاهرة فينظمه في الحال ثم يعرضه على الإمام (عليه السَّلام) كما رواه ابن عياش في " مقتضب الأثر" عن أبان بن عمر قال: كنت عند أبي عبدالله [ الصادق] (عليه السَّلام) فدخل عليه سفيان بن مصعب العبدي، قال: جعلني الله فداك ما تقول في قوله تعالي ذكره: وعلى الأعراف رجال يعرفون كلا بسيماهم؟! قال: " هم الأوصياء من آل محمد الاثنا عشر لا يعرف الله إلا من عرفهم وعرفوه"
