لقد عَمَدَت الدّكتورة نجاة جرجس جدعون إلى إتّخاذ المبادرة بوضع كتاب "حقوق الإنسان (نصّ - إجتهاد - فقه) - دراسة مقارنة"، ضمَّنته مفهوم حقوق الإنسان ومصادرها القانونيّة ومضامين هذه الحقوق وأنواعها وضماناتها.
وتناولت حقوق الإنسان في القانون الدّاخليّ والقانون الدّوليّ، من خلال النّصّ والإجتهاد والفقه، مُعتمِدَةً النّهج المُقارَن، الّذي أثبَت جدواه في البحث والإستنتاج، وتحديد مسار التّطوّر على صعيدَي النّصّ والممارسة.
كما تناولت موضوع التّربية على حقوق الإنسان، ومختلف الحقوق الّتي ينبغي أن يتمتّع بها الإنسان، لأنَّ لا قيمة لحقّ مُعترَف به في القوانين ولا يستطيع الإنسان أن يتمتّع به.
ولقد اعتمَدَت الدّكتورة جدعون العديد من الوثائق الأساسيّة والمراجع، وبذلت مجهوداً كبيراً في جمعها والتّعمّق في دراستها، ونشرت العديد منها في كتابها الّذي يُعتبَر مرجعاً لكلّ باحثٍ في حقوق الإنسان، ولكلّ متطلِّع إلى دولةٍ تُصان فيها الحقوق والحرّيّات على صعيد الواقع وليس فقط على صعيد النّصّ.
