Book Description
وُلِدَ فيرجيل جورجيو في الخامس عشر من أيلول عام 1916، في قرية راسبويني في رومانيا، في مقاطعة مولدافي، التي أعطت هذا البلد أكثر شعرائه وأفضل كتابه، والتي تحوي أديرة شهيرة.
درس جورجيو في جامعات بوخارست، وهيدلبرغ، ونال في رومانيا الجائزة الملكية في الشعر عن كتابه "كتبة على الثلج"، عمل أمين سر سفارة للشؤون الثقافية في وزارة الخارجية الرومانية.
منذ إحتلال الجيش الأحمر لرومانيا في 23 آب عام 1944، عاش جورجيو منفياً، ثم استقر في فرنسا عام 1948 في عام 1963 رُسِمَ كاهناً في الكنيسة الأرثوذكسية الرومانية في باريس.
في عام 1966 رقعته بطركيّة بوخارست إلى منصب مدبَّر، ايكو نوموس، حامل صليب، وفي عام 1970 نال مقاماً رفيعاً من قبل بطريركية القسطنطينية المسكونية.
عاش فيرجيل جورجيو حياته في باريس وتوفي فيها، ولقد تُرجِمَ كتابه "الساعة الخامسة والعشرون" إلى كل اللغات وأعدة أنطوني كوين للشاشة.
صدر له بالعربية عن مكتبة السائح: 1-الساعة الخامسة والعشرون، 2-من الساعة 25 إلى الأبدية، 3-يوحنا الذهبي الفم.
