الغضب أحد الانفعالات الهامة والأساسية وقد وقع عليه اختيار الباحثين لمحاولة فهم طبيعته ودراسة علاقته ببعض المتغيرات، ولكونه إنفعالاً فإنه يجمع بين العمليات الجسمية والعمليات العقلية، ولا شك أن الغضب من الإنفعالات العالمية Universal شأنه في ذلك شأن المخاوف والسعادة والحزن، فلا يوجد إنسان ينتمي إلى أي ثقافة أو حضارة إلا وتعرض إلى خبرة الغضب، وعلى الرغم من عالمية هذا الإنفعال وانتشاره إلا أن هناك حقيقة بينة تتجلى في أن الأطر الثقافية المتباينة وأساليب التنشئة الإجتماعية المتبعة في المجتمعات عربية كانت أم أجنبية لها در لا يستهان به في طريقة تعبير الفرد عن غضبه، كما أنها تتضمن فاعليات تحت الفرد على كيفية ضبط غضبه وكبح جماحه أو التعبير عنه بشكل صريح ومباشر، وبناء على ذلك يمكن أن نخلص إلى أن الغضب يختلف من مجتمع إلى آخر ومن حضارة إلى أخرى... ومن هذا المنطلق فالدراسة الراهنة تحاول أن تميط اللثام عن الفروق بين المجتمع المصري والمجتمع القطري في انفعال كالغضب.
