كنت قد قرأت للشاعر طلال الغوار الكثير من القصائد المنشورة في الصحف والمجلات العراقية والعربية، فأخذتني تلك القراءة إلى متابعته.
هذا الشاعر بعيداً عن العاطفة، مأخوذاً بدهشة سحر شعره، وما كنت اعتقد أن وراء هذا الشعر الذي قرأته بركان من الرؤى ولحن لغوي خاص.
وبعد قرائي هذه أصبح الشاعر طلال الغوار بالنسبة لي شاعراً شديد الوعي الفكري، وذو خصوصية نادرة ويمتلك حيوية مستمرة لا تعرف الخمول، ولا الخوف.
والشاعر طلال الغوّار فقد كان ومنذ مجموعة الأولى (الخروج من الأسماء) شاعراً مشعاً ومن موقع مختلف عن مواقع غيره من الشعراء، فهو ضوء ساطع من أضواء المشهد الشعري العراقي المتجدد.
