تعتبر قضية دارفور بكافة تداعياتها إفرازاً لطبيعية العصر أحادي القطب، فقد تفجرن هذه المشكلة في عام 2003م نتيجة أسباب عادية قد تحدث في أي مجتمع، ويستطيع أي مجتمع أن يحتوي آثارها، أو يتداركها. فمنذ ظهور الحياة على وجه الأرض وطبيعة الصراع موجودة والذي يعمل على إيجتده غزيزة حب لبقاء.
ولكن مع الظروف المحيطة بالعالم الإسلامي والعربي أخذت هذه المشكلة أبعاداً أكبر من حجمها الحقيقي. نتيجة تدخل أطراف أجنبية في المشكلة. ونتيجة لثروات متوقع ظهورها في الأقليم كالبترول، والذي أصبح سلعة مطلوبة في كل دول العالم، ومن بسيطر على منابعه يمتلك كل أسباب القوة وأصبح النفط في بعض البلاد المنتجة له بمثابة نقمة في أحايين كثيرة.
من هنا تبرز أهمية الكتابة عن موضوع دارفور. هذا الإقليم الذي يقع في غرب السودان، والذي تبلغ مساحته خمس مساحة السودان، والذي بدوره أكبر البلاد العربية مساحة.
فقضية دارفور مثال صارخ على كيفية استغلال المشكلات المحلية واستخدامها كمطية للسيطرة لى مقدارت الشعوب، والمتتبع لتاريخ القضية يجد أنها لم تكن لتصل إلى ما وصلت إليه لولا التدخل الأجنبي.
وصعوبة تناول هذا الموضوع تكمن في أنه من موضوعات السهل الممتنع بسبب أنه موضوع مازال مستمراً، وأن حدة الصراع تتصاعد فيه يوماً بعد يوم، كما أن الأحداث تتلاحق بسرعة تجعل الكتابة فيه أشبه بمن يحاول أن يصارع الزمن.
ومما يجعل الموضوع صعباً أيضاً صعوبة التنبؤ بنتائج الأحداث نظراً لكثرة المتغيرات الدولية والإقليمية والمحلية التي تؤثر على الموضوع.
ولذلك راعيت في الكتابة عن موضوع دارفور التركيز على التطور الأحداث حتى بداية عام 2007م. تاركين ما تأتي به الأيام. والموضوع يخضع للمنهج الوصفي والتحليلي. ومقسم إلى فصل تمهيدي وخمسة فصول.
