كعادة الأديب السوداني «بركة ساكن» يتحدَّث عن المسكوت عنه في محنة الإنسان السوداني؛ عن الحروب الضروس المتتالية التي تُعلن فظائعها اليومية انتصارَ البارود على رُوح الإنسان؛ فليس هناك طرف منتصِر في تلك المعارك العبثيَّة التي يحشِد فيها السادة خيرة الشباب تحت شعارات مبتَذَلة ينطفئ رَوْنَقُها لحظة إطلاق النار في الميدان، ويصبِح وقتها الموت هو الحقيقة الوحيدة، وكعادة الحروب فإنها تستدعي أسوأ ما في الإنسان من كراهية وعنصرية حتى بين أبناء نفس البَشَرَة السمراء؛ فبينهم السادة والعبيد المناكيد، ووسط كل هذا الضجيج يخرج صوتٌ من دارفور يعلن أنه «مسيحٌ جديد» يأتي بالمعجزات، تسمِّيه الحكومة «النبي الكاذب» و«المسيح الدجال»، وترسل في طلب صلبه أحد زبانيتها، حيث تتوالى أحداث حابسة للأنفاس لا تَغِيب عنها مفردات التراث الشعبي السوداني الفريد.
