ولد في القدس سنة 1955.
نال درجة البكالوريوس في دراسات الشرق الأوسط والآثار من جامعة بير زيت.
حاز درجة الماجستير في الآثار والتاريخ من جامعة توبنغن والدكتوراه في تاريخ وآثار الشرق الأوسط.
عمل مديراً للمتحف الإسلامي في القدس، ثم عم أستاذاً في دائرة التاريخ في جامعة بير زيت.
وهو مدير مشارك في مركز رواق منذ سنة 1994.
Book Description
تتعدد أشكال السيطرة على المشهد الحضاري في الشطر الشرقي من القدس بعد حزيران/ يونيو 1967، لكن التغيير الأكثر درامية هو جرف حارة المغاربة، وبعد ذلك في سنة 1969 مصادرة مساحة واسعة من البلدة القديمة لتشييد حارة لليهود. وما زالت هذه المنطقة الممتدة من حارة الأرمن غرباً إلى الجدار الغربي للمسجد الأقصى شرقاً تشهد حركة حثيثة تهدف إلى إيجاد حيز متكامل من ناحية المشهد والمحتوى والسكان، وذلك في محاولة لتقديم رواية مغايرة لتاريخ القدس.
يُعتبر الوجود المغاربي الذي أزيح بالجرافات في حزيران/يونيو 1967، غنياً بتاريخه وإفرازاته الحضارية والإنسانية، ويُعبر عن عمق العلاقة بين القدس والمغاربة، كما شكل الوجود اليهودي المحدود جداً منذ أربعة عشر قرناً في القدس أيضاً جزءاً لا يتجزأ من تاريخ المدينة.
يعرض هذا الكتاب كلاً من الوجودين من ناحية تاريخية وثقافية ودينية، وما تحتويه هذه المنطقة، حارة اليهود وحارة المغاربة، من معالم تاريخية ودينية، كما يبين الأملاك العقارية في المنطقة المصادرَة وما جرى عليها من تغييرات حتى الآن.
