لا شك أن الخطاب السياسي موضوع نظر حقول متعددة، ولعل البلاغة أحد هذه الحقول التي أثبتت منذ القدم جدارتها بالنظر في الخطاب السياسي؛ وإذا كنا لم نرث عن البلاغة القديمة رصيداً من التحليلات البلاغية الدقيقة والوافية لنصوص هذا الخطاب، فإننا في المقابل نملك قدراً من التنظير التي يسعفنا في فهم ماهية هذا الخطاب ووظيفته.
فقد حدّد أرسطو ماهية هذا الخطاب على أساس وظيفته التداولية؛ إذ انه يخاطب مستمعاً يتوخّى منه إتخاذ قرار بشأن مستقبل المدينة التي يعيش فيها؛ فالخطاب السياسي خطاب نفعي يتعلق بتدبير حياة الناس وبناء مجتمع يعود عليهم بالخير.
ولأجل إقناع المستمع إلى ذلك بالحجج الملائمة، وإذا كان أرسطو قد ربط الخطاب السياسي بحجة المثال بوصفها الحجة الأكثر ملاءمة لهذا الخطاب، بناء على أنّ إقناع الناس بإتخاذ قرار مستقبلي يعتمد بالدرجة الأولى على تذكيرهم بما وقع في الماضي، كما ربطه بالإيتوس بناء على أنّ الخطاب السياسي يعتمد بدرجة كبيرة على المظهر الخلقي للخطيب، إلاّ أنّ تنظير أرسطو للخطاب السياسي كان مقيّداً بنوع محدّد من الخطابة السياسية ولم يتفاعل مع كل أنواع الخطاب السياسي التي سينفتح عليها البلاغيون المعاصرون، ومنهم مؤلفو هذا الكتاب.
ولأنّ السياق الذي تنظّمُ فيه ندوات الكتب التي تصدرها فرقة البلاغة، هو سياق تذكّر وإحتفاء بأعمدة البحث العلمي الإنساني في المغرب والعالم العربي، فإنّ السياق الذي نظمت فيه الندوة التي قدّمت فيها معظم أعمال هذا الكتاب، كان مناسبة للإحتفاء بالدكتور سعيد بنكراد بوصفه أحد أهم اعلام الثقافة المعاصرة بالمغرب وأبرز السيميائيين العرب، فإليه نهدي أعمال هذا الكتاب، ومن جهوده العلمية نستلهم الإستمرار على درب البلاغة في إنفتاحها على مجمل الخطابات.
