مدير تصوير سينمائى من نوع فريد لا يمكن لمن يتابع السنيما المصرية عن قرب ان ينكر أنه يختلف عن سائر مديرى التصوير الذين سبقوه والذين ما زالوا يمارسون معه هذا النوع من التخصص السينمائى .. فإلى جانب أنه مدير تصوير سينمائى محرتف طرق مجال السينما التسجيلية أولا وانتقل منها الى تصوير الأفلام الروائية الطويلة ثم مارس التصوير السينمائى تحت سطح الماء كأول مصرى يدفعه حماسة الى اقتحام هذا المجال واقتحم ايضا مجال الاخراج السينمائى والانتاج .. إلا انه فى كل هذا كان يعمل بروح الهواية وما زال فقد بدا هواية السينما منذ صغرة كما سنعرف حافظ على روح الهاوى ومزاجه وتمتعة بما يعمل حت بعد ان درس التصوير السينمائى دراسة اكاديمية فى المعهد العالى للسينما وتخرج منه متفوقا واحتراف وحصل على عدد من الجوائز وعلى التكريم فى الداخل والخارج وله دور ايضا فى مجال نشر الثقافة السينمائية وإلقاء المحاضرات وتاليف الكتب فى مجال تخصصة لا يبخل بنقل معلوماته وخبرته وتجاربة الى الغير فى كل مكان .
