إن هذا التألق والصحو الذي يصل إلى حالة الوجد، هذا الحضور حضور الذات في العالم وحضور العالم في الذات لا تسعه التقنيات والأشكال المعتادة لكتابة القصة القصيرة، إن لغة زهاء الطاهر الفنية مفعمة بنفس صوفي وهي بهذا المعنى، ليست لغة أدبية الجذور وحسب إذ إن أصولها الحقيقية ضاربة في الفكر الصوفي الديني، لكنه استطاع أن يكفيها لمتطلبات الفن القصصي كما فعل التجاني يوسف بشير من قبل.
ولقد بلغ عنصر اللغة عند زهاء الطاهر حداً تقوم فيه مقام الحدث، بل الفكر والشعور في بعض الأحيان حتى يخيل إليك أن اللغة هي وحدها التي تنهض بالأحداث فلغته مع رصانتها لغة رفيعة، تكتنز عذوبة، تتجلى فيها فخامة اللفظة العربية بكل سحرها، إنها لغة ثقافة كأنها تستجلي بنورانيتها العجيبة استجلاء وهي مع تجريديتها ونغمها الصوفي اللطيف ليست بالغة الإرستقراطية المستعلية ولا أدل على ذلك من كونها في تناول مختلف الشخصيات التي تعج بها قصص زهاء.
