ورأيت أول من رأيت "جفاله" كانت ممتلئة بالصدق والعذوبة والعفوية، ممتلئة بالصراحة والبشاشة وبالدفء وكم كنت مجيداً تلك الليلة في تلاوة لوحي، قرأته جهراً من أوله لأخره، وبالعكس حتى اصطدمنا. وهي رأتني حين رأيتها، سمعتني حين كنت أسجع، فقربت مني.جائتني. فوقفت لها أدباً كما علمنا الفكي أبكر المسلاتي ولوحي بشرافته كان محمولاً بيمناي. وجفالة قالت لي: أرني آياتك.
فلما مددت لها بآياتي المكتوبة رفعت رأسها من اللوح تنظر إلى لتقارن بيني وبين "قد سمع" وجدتني وقد فقزت أمامها خمس سنوات بنات حفرة، رأتني كما ينبغي، ورأيتها أكثر مما رأتني، فتشابك مصيرانا ثم مرة أخرى قالت لي: أريدك أن تعوذني بآية الكرسي، ولتكتب لي آية أخرى تحجبني بها وتحفظني وتغطيني من العين واكتب لي بخزات لتنفعني، فعلت لها ما أمرت ثم تركت لوحي ودواتي وتبعتها حتى أدخلتني زمانا الحاذق الحارق.
