الأزمة الراهنة دليل على تقصير الغرب في فهم الإسلام من الداخل، شاء أن يفهمه كما فهم المسيحية وغيرها، في حين أن لكل دين خصوصيّته، ومقدرته على الممانعة أو الإندماج، وأياً تكن أسباب هذه الأزمة، فالغرب، ولا أحد سواه، مسؤول عن تكثيف الوجود الإسلامي على أراضيه، وعليه أولاً تقع مسؤولية حلّ المشاكل الناجمة عن هذا الوجود، وأكثرها حدّة اليوم الإسلاموفوبيا.
وهذا لا يعني بتاتاً أن الغرب وحده المسؤول عن معضلة الإسلاموفوبيا نشأة ومعالجة، فللعالم الإسلامي حصّة الأسد في المسؤولية، كما تبيّن بحوث هذا الكتاب، والإسلاموفوبيا، بكلمة موجزة ومعبّرة، يتشارك العالمان الإسلامي والغربي مسؤولية ظهورها وتفاقمها، ولا مناص من أن يتشاركا مسؤولية البحث عن حلول ناجعة لها.
لذا، لا مفرّ من تعاون العالمين الغربي والإسلامي للخروج من عنق الزجاجة، تقول طروحات هذا الكتاب، فالصدام، إن حصلن فلن يُرحم أحدّ فيه، وسيكون صراع ذئاب شرسة مسعورة، وما هذه الفترة الآن سوى وقت مستقطع بين جولتين.
