هذه الترجمة التي نقدم الجزء الأول منها (الرحلة إلى فلسطين ومصر 1906م) لمؤلفها توكوتومي كينجيرو نمط مختلف تماماً عن الكثير من الرحلات، فهي نموذج من الرحلات اليابانية إلى المناطق المقدسة لدى المسيحيين، بقلم أديب ياباني مسيحي يدعى توكوتومي كينجيرو "لوقا" قام برحلته كما ذكر بهدف الحج إلى "الأراضي المقدسة في فلسطين" وبالتحديد في القدس، ويستخدم كلمة الحج باللغة اليابانية التي استخدمها مواطنوه من المسلمين اليابانيين حين وصفوا رحلاتهم إلى الحج وأداء مشاعره في مكة المكرمة، وتعد هذه الترجمة أول ترجمة إلى اللغة العربية لأي من كتاباته، وقد نشرت هذه الرحلة في المجلد الثامن ضمن مجموعة مؤلفاته التي صدرت في عشرين مجلداً.
أما الجزء الثاني فهو "الرحلة اليابانية إلى فلسطين ومصر 1919م" وقد اشتملت الرحلة على ذكريات سفره هو وزوجته عام 1919م، ومن الملاحظ أن المؤلف لا ينفك يشير إلى ذكريات رحلته الأولى عام 1906م وبخاصة الصفحات المتعلقة بفلسطين، فهو يكرر في مواضع كثيرة عبارة "قبل ثلاث عشرة سنة".. و"لم يمكن الوضع هكذا قبل ثلاث عشرة سنة" وغيرها، ذلك لأن الوضع في فلسطين كان قد تغير كثيراً.
لقد أشرك توكوتومي كينجيرو معه زوجته في كتابة هذا المجلد مؤكداً على دور المرأة، فهي أساس النهضة وأساس التقدم، ولا يجب أن يغفل دورها، وقد تكررت المناسبات التي أوضح فيها عن مشاعره تلك، فعلى سبيل المثال حين ذكر ثورة 1919م ودور المرأة المصرية وموقفها من الاحتلال مؤكداً على أن الإنجليز لا يمكنهم أن ينتصروا مادامت المرأة المصرية قد نهضت وشاركت في المظاهرات.
