"لم يعد لدي/ شيء أقوله/ فالأرض لم تعد/ تهب قمحاً/ يوم غادرتها/ القوافل/ والحروف لا تعرف لها معنى/ فالماء قد غار/ والسفينة ضلت الطريق/ لكن رقص العواصف/ بقي يمُدها بالحياة".
وعليه، تكون قصائد "أساطير من نار الكلام" تأسيس حقيقي لشعرية تجربة الشاعر الفرج في أقصى مدياتها منذ بدأ مسيرته الشعرية وحتى إصداره الأخير هذا.
يضم الكتاب خمسة وثلاثون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث وردت باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية نذكر من عناوينها: "عشق وشراك"، "ليل الأصفاد"، "وجه المرايا"، "أرى جمالك"، "الحب الميت"، "خواء وضياع"، "فرحٌ وحزنٌ"، "ليلة النهر"، "شلال العتمة"، "ضجيج العتمة"، "عكس الاتجاه" (...) إلخ.
