الأسطورة هي فلسفة الإنسان البدائي، إنها أوّل محاولةٍ للإجابة على أيّة أسئلةٍ عامّة تتعلّق بالعالَم، فرضت نفسها على العقل البشري منذ ازمنةٍ لا قهر لها، وسوف تستمّر بذلك إلى أزمنة أخرى لا نهاية لها.
وبالتالي، فإنّ المهمّة المطروحة أمام الباحث في الأسطورة هي ذاتها التي تناولتها الفلسفة في وقت ما، والعلمُ في وقتٍ لاحق.
وسنبقى مدفوعين بغريزة قاهرة نحو محاولةٍ لا تيأس لرفع الحجاب الذي يخفي معانيها عنا، آملين أنها في اللحظة التي تتضح صورتها في وعينا، قد نكشف السرّ العظيم الذي احترق الباحثون حوله جيلاً بعد جيل.
الأسطورة، مغلّقةً بالأسرار في كُلِّ إتجاه، هي سعيٌ بلا نهاية، هي نتابعٌ لا ينتهي لأنظمةٍ فلسفيةٍ وعلميّةٍ طُرحَت بأقوى ما يمكن للثقة أن تكون، وتمّ الدفاعُ عنها كما لو كانت حِصناً بُنيَ للصمود في وجه الزمن والأبدية، متألّقة كبريق قوس قزحٍ أحياناً، ومتفجرةً ثم متلاشيةً كنقاطِ ضوءٍ في أشعّة شمسٍ صاحبةٍ أو فقاعات ماءٍ في نهر في أحيانٍ أخرى، هكذا كانت وهكذا ستبقى، ولا حقَّ لأي فيلسوفٍ أو عالمٍ أن يرمي بالحجارة البيت الزجاجيّ لسلّفه صانع الأساطير.
