يتناول هذا الكتاب موضوعات ثلاثة، تتفرع منها موضوعات أُخر: يتعلّق الأول بــ "زغرتا ومزيارة" وبــ "الزاوية" عموماً، وأقول، صادقاً، إنني اعتبر نفسي مزياريّاً بسبب والدي، وزغرتاويّاً بسبب والداتي، أحبّ ضيعتي كثيراً، وما انتقاداتي لها في الكتاب سوى رغبتي في أن أراها أحسن، ليس بالعمران أو بالمال فحسب، بل بالثقافة وبناء الإنسان والإيمان بالحريّة، وفيه مرحلة الطفولة والشباب، والتعلّم، ثم الزواج وبناء الأسرة.
يتعلق الثاني بحياتي في "النهار" ومعها، أعترف، هنا، أنها مدرسة، بل جامعة حقيقية، ونُبذٌ من حياتي بين الحبر والكواليس.
ويتعلق الثالث بمعايشاتي للسياسة اللبنانية وزواريبها ورجالاتها، ثم السياسة الدولية وعلاقاتي برجالات العالم.
