إن أجمل ما في لمسات الموج أنها تبدأ ناعمة؛ لتغمر الكتفين، وما يلبث أن يأتي جبل موج شاهق ليطمر الجسد كله، يجعله تحت سطح الماء. علمه صديقه "الخميسي" أن ينتهز الفرصة ليفتح عينيه؛ فيرى الأسماك، وهي تحرك زعانفها، وذيلها بانسياب مدهش، ربما تكون الصورة مضيئة، لكن لون الفضة هو الغالب، بمقدار ذراع يعلو؛ ليفرغ الماء المالح الذي عبه جوفه، الشمس تزغلل بصره، عند الشاطئ يلمح ولداً صغيراً يطلق طائرته الورقية، الهواء يؤرجحها يميناً ويساراً، الريح أقوى من كل شئ، عليه أن ينعم بهدوء البحر، الولد الذي يبكي؛ لسقوط طائرته، وابتلالها، يلفت نظره بأنينه الموجع. يخرج مسرعاً ليخلص الورق الشفاف من جبروت الماء، الخيوط متشابكة كمصائر الناس، يحاول أن يفك العقد بأصابعه، نسمة رقيقة أتت من الشمال.
