الجهاز الهضمي هو أحد الأجهزة بالغة الأهمية في جسم الإنسان، والتي تنعم عليه بإستمرار الصحة.
الكثير من الناس يشكون من مشاكل وأمراض في المعدة أو الأمعاء الدقيقة أو الغليظة (القولون).
الكثير من مرضى القولون يعانون من توتر عصبي وقلق، فضلاً عن آلام مصحوبة بأعراض ثانوية من أجهزة الجسم الأخرى.
إن تناول الطعام هو أحد الغرائز الرئيسية، وقد يكون الإنسان هو السبب في المعاناة من مرض في عضو من أعضاء الجهاز الهضمي ولأسباب كثيرة، كأن يُثقل جهازه الهضمي بكميات كبيرة من الأطعمة، أو يتناول أنواعاً من الطعام صعبة الهضم أو ملوثة جرثومياً.
إن الجهاز الهضمي يتكون من عدة أعضاء، فهو يشمل القناة الهضمية التي تبدأ من الفم (وما يحتويه من أعضاء وغدد) ماراً بالمريء ثم المعدة والأمعاء الدقيقة والغليظة، منتهياً بالشرج.
وهناك عدة أعضاء خارجية تفرز غدداً لتكمل عملية الهضم، ولها علاقة قوية في تنظيم عملية الهضم للإستفادة من الطعام وتحويله إلى غذاء للحجرات التي تديم الحياة كالغدة الصفراء التي تفرز من الكبد.
سنتناول شرحها جميعاً بعد شرح أعضاء وغدد القناة الهضمية وبيان وظائفها وأمراضها وطرق الوقاية لتجنب إصابتها بالأمراض والمحافظة عليها.
إن الجهاز الهضمي هو معجزة الخالق جلّ وعلا في مخلوقاته، إذ جعل لكل شيء سبباً، وجعل الإنسان أكثر تطوراً، وجعل أنسجة جسمه العديدة وحدة متكاملة تقوم بوظائفها على أكمل وجه، وتعمل بتجانس وتوافق مذهل يفوق كل ما يتصوره الخيال.
