يتمتع العاملون بالطوائف الدينية الإسلامية وغير الإسلامية بمركز قانوني يضفي عليهم حماية معينة تميزهم عن غيرهم عن العاملين في وحدات القطاع الخاص وكذا القطاع العام وكذا وحدات قطاع الأعمال.
إلا أن هذا المركز وتلك المزايا لا يتمتع بها جميع العاملين في الهيئات الإدارية للطوائف الدينية بل هي قاصرة على الهيئات الدينية التي تعترف بها الدولة دون غيرها من الهيئات والطوائف الدينية.
وإذا كان هذا البحث يعني بالكلام عن الحماية الجنائية للعاملين بالهيئات والطوائف غير الإسلامية، فقد كان من اللازم أن نتناول بالبحث والدراسة تلك الهيئات التي يتمتع العاملون فيها بالحماية وأن نحدد حدود وأبعاد هذه الحماية الجنائية التي قررها القانون الجنائي في مصر.
ومن هنا فإننا نعرض لدراستنا هذه من خلال مبحثين: الأول يتناول ماهية الطوائف الدينية غير الإسلامية، الثاني نتحدث فيه عن حدود الحماية الجنائية المقررة للعاملين في هذه الهيئات.
