الطبعة التي نقدمها هي التي أعاد النظر فيها وقابلها على الأصل اليوناني الأسقف سرجيوس سمنة، سنة 1964. ونظراً لنفاذ نسخها قامت "دار الكلمة" التابعة للمطران الياس قربان بالتعاون مع مكتبة السائح و"المنشورات الأرثوذكسية" بتصويرها بالأوفست تحوّل "مختصر الأفحولوجي" إلى كتاب رجال الدين يستخدمونه في الخدمات الدينية التي يكلفون بها. كما تحوّلت الخدم التي يحتويها إلى خدم خاصة يطلبها الناس عند حاجتهم إليها. ولعل هذه الخصوصية هي التي كانت وراء اختصاره من "الأفخولوجي الكبير" وهي التي جعلته يُحمل إلى البيوت لإقامة صلوات لا يحضرها إلا أهل البيت الواحد مع أقربائه وأصحابه ومدعويه.
