هذا الكتاب هو حصيلة الجهود التى أسفر عنها مؤتمر "لغة الطفل العربى فى عصر العولمة"، وقد جاء انعقاد هذا المؤتمر إدراكآ للأخطار والتحديات التى تهدد اللغه العربية وتحول بين الطفل العربي وتكوين هويته العربية وثقافته القومية، ودعوة إلى إصلاح لغوى شامل ينبع من إدراك شامل لمتطلبات العصر وشروط الحياة فيه، ومن وعى مسئول بما نواجهه فى واقعنا العربى وما يعيشه أطفالنا بالفعل وما يجب أن يتغير فى حياتهم وحياتنا، تلبية لحاجاتنا القومية تجاوبآ مع الاهتمام الدولى بتنوع الثقافات فى حوار الحضارات، هذا الاهتمام الذى أوحى لمنظمة اليونيسكو بإطلاق يوم عاملى للغة القومية يحتفل به العالم كله، ولقد شارك فى أعمال المؤتمر الذى نقدم حصيلته فى هذا الكتاب ما يقرب من خمسمائة مشارك يمثلون مختلف المجالات المتعلقة باللغه وقضاياها، وأسئلتها المطروحة على عالم اليوم يمثلون تسع عشرة دولة عربية وسبع دول أجنبية، بالإضافة إلى الجهود التى بذلت تمهيدآ لعقد المؤتمر وتغذيته بالإحصائيات والمعلومات الضرورية، وتحديد السبل والآليات التى تمكن للغة العربية كما يتعلمها أطفالنا من التجدد والانفتاح على الثقافات الاجنبية، هذه البحوث الجادة التى ألقيت فى المؤتمر، وهذه المناقشات التى دارت فيه على مدى ثلاثة أيام تجدون حصيلتها فى هذا الكتاب الذى نطرح فيه المشكلة ونقدم إجاباتنا عليها، وندعو الجميع لمشاركتنا الاهتمام بالموضوع مع الإسهام فى إنقاذ لغة الطفل العربى، فالطفل العربى هو المستقبل العربي، ولغتة هى لغة المستقبل.
