لقد أصبحت العولمة اليوم، في أبعادها المختلفة، بمثابة ديانة اقتصادية كونية جديدة لها قوسها وأحبارها ووصاياها، شعارها وحدانية السوق وقوامها لسوق الواحد والفكر الواحد، في إطار ما يطلق عليه اليوم اسم "الليبرالية الجديدة" بمضمونها التوحيد في الواسع. وقد تناول اليحياوي البحث في ظاهرة العولمة يهدف الكشف عن الدينامية الداخلية للظاهرة في مختلف أبعادها من منطلق الباحث المتخصص المؤهل بحكم نوع ثقافته الاقتصادية والتقنية، لتشريح الظاهرة من الداخل، بعيداً عن أية مقاربة تعميمية أو إنشائية. وقد أتى بحثه هذا تمهيداً لمطالبة الساسة والمثقفين بضرورة التفكير في إمكانية صياغة عولمة متوازنة المكونات، متجانسة الطبيعة، وضيقة الأبعاد، لا عولمة الزمن الحاضر حيث خرجت لا تنمية ولا فكر ولا ديموقراطية إلا ما يراه "الفكر الواحد" ويرتضيه.
