نثر أفكاره في سطورٍ كُتبهِ المتنوّعة من التأليف في مجالات عديدةٍ إلى الترجمة والتحقيق في الكثير من الدراسات والمخطوطات العربية الإسلامية القديمة، من أجل الإفادة ممّا صحٌ منها والإسهام في إنصافها قدر الإمكان، وهي أعمالٌ فتحت، ولا زالت، للباحثين مجالاً واسعاً لإعادة الإتّصال بتراثهم وماضيهم الفكري، والنهل من معينه، وإقتناص العِبر منه، بإعتبار ذلك مقدّمة ضرورية للرقُي به أوّلاً وبذواتهم في المحلّ الثاني، من أشهر كتبه: Précis de Grammaire Arabe، (قواعد اللغة العربية الواضحة)، Ethnographic de 1897 l’Algérie، (إثنوغرفيا الجزائر) 1886، L’islamisme (الإسلام) 1904؛ Mission scientifique en Tunisie، (مهمّة علميّة في تونس) 1884.
