في طقوس شعرية، وبخيالات ملتهبة بلذة نادرة، تدفع لإنتاج الشعر في لحظة ولادته وقيامه، يأتي ديوان (عكاريات) للدكتور الشاعر محمود حمد سليمان، يبحر لقارئه بالشعر إلى حيث لا يدري، فيكتب عن الماضي وذكرياته مثلما يكتب عن الحاضر وأوجاعه، وعبر هذا الإشتغال الفني الفريد، تحضر "عكار" / لبنان التي يبدو أن الشاعر أسس بها القيمة الراهنية للنص.
عكارُ سمرتُ فيك القلب والحَدَقا / أفشيت حبّك لا زلفى ولا مَلَقا ، عكارُ ما أنت إلا القلب ملتهباً / عانيت فيه الهوى والوجد والأرق ، قلبٌ تهيم قلوبُ العاشقين به / تراكمت فوقه الأشواق فاحترقا ..." .
وبهذا المعنى يحمل نص الشاعر سليمان خصوصية مختلفة بكل تفاصيله وتشظياته وإضاءاته؛ وتعدد عوالمه وطبقاته، إنه بحر كبير تسبح فيه كل عناصر الزمان والمكان والتاريخ والجغرافيا، وتسكن بين صفحاته ذكريات، وتموج بين حروفه أمنيات، وأحلام بوطنٍ يجمع ولا يفرق.
يقسم ديوان (عكّاريّات) إلى قسمين: القسم الأول وعنوانه "قصائد وطنية قومية" ويضم عشرين قصيدة، والقصائد جاءت بين الشعر الموزون والمقفى، (شعر التفعيلة) وبين الشعر العربي الحديث، وقصيدة النثر. نذكر من العناوين: "ورثت حبّ رسول الله" ، " عكار" ، "سلام الله يا قدس" ، "إرحل لبغداد" ، "دمشق صانعة التاريخ" ، "إجتثاث العراق" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
