"إن مجموعة الوطنيين السباقين لإشعال فتيل ثورة 1 نوفمبر 1954 في الأوراس، كانوا قد تيقنوا أن الاستعمار الفرنسي لا يقبل التخلي عن امتيازاته، التي اكتسبها بالهيمنة وبإخضاع الشعب الجزائري، إلا بالقوة. إن هؤلاء الرواد الذين أشعلوا فتيل الثورة كانوا شبانا بسطاء - ليسوا فلاسفة ولا إيديولوجيين - نساء ورجالا متشبعين بمبادئ الحرية والعدالة. عباس لغرور (ولد بتاريخ 23 جوان 1926) كان واحدا من هؤلاء. انضم عباس إلى الحركة الوطنية (حزب الشعب وحركة الانتصار للحريات الديمقراطية) مبكرا، وهو رجل من مفجري ثورة نوفمبر 1954، وأحد المساعدين الرئيسيين لمصطفى بن بولعيد. هذا الرجل التقي اعتبر أحد أكبر استراتيجيي الحرب الثورية في الجزائر، ليس فقط من طرف مجاهدي جيش التحرير الوطني، وإنما أيضا من خصومه العسكريين الفرنسيين المرموقين، ولكن تم اغتياله في ظروف لا تزال غامضة. في هذا الكتاب، يتناول المؤلف هذه الواقعة مع أحداث مهمة أخرى، مستحضرا مسار الشهيد عباس لغرور، وهذا من خلال الشهادات والنصوص التاريخية التي تناولت أحداث ثورة التحرير الجزائرية. "
