جلست قرب الزهور عند الصخور الرمادية... الصخرة فوق كتفي، الزهرة عند خصري، والعشب كله تحت قدمي لمست الطحلب الأخضر والطحلب الرمادي... لمست الطحلب البرتقالي تفلتُ على قطعة من الطحلب الرمادي تفلات من ريقي، ثم حككت اللعاب والطحلب برفق بحجر صغير، حتى تشكلت لطخة خضراء....
أخذت شيئاً من اللطخة بقشة ورسمت بها أشكالاً على بطن يدي، تركت الرسوم دقائق حتى جفت، ثم فركت الطحلب عن يدي فظهر تحته نقش أحمر غامق... هذا هو الحناء: حناء الطحالب والصخور...
أنا الآن عريس زهرة الزعمطوط، زهرة عصا الراعي... عريس الصخرة والطحلب والعشب... تعال يا أخي لأحنّي يدك في عرسي... تعال أيها الغارق في الدم... تعال أيها الضائع في الضباب... تعال، أحضر عرس أخيك... تعال يا حبيبي... تعال...
وكنت أرغب في الموت... أرغب فيه حتى النهاية.
