في هذا المرجع تم تناول تقنيات وتنقيه المياه للاستخدامات الصناعية في التمهيد وستة فصول، ففي التمهيد تم استعراض أنواع المياه من المصادر المختلفة ومصادر التلوث للمياه ومعايير النقاء والاستخدام للمياه في الصناعة، وفي الفصل الأول: تم تناول خطوات المعالجة الأساسية للمياه من المصادر العذبة لاستخدامها في الصناعة، أما الفصل الثاني فقد تم تخصيصه لدراسة عمليات إزالة العسر بالتبادل الأيوني، أهمية إعادة المياه المكثفة ومعالجتها لتغذية الغلايات فتم تناول هذا الموضوع في الفصل الثالث، وفي الفصل الرابع تناول هذا المرجع تقطير المياه العذبة للاستخدامات الدوائية والمعملية والصناعية، ونظراً لأن اعزاب المياه أو ما يسمى أحياناً تحلية المياه المالحة كمصدر هام لزيادة الموارد المائية للشرب والري فتم تناوله في الفصل الخامس، والفصل السادس خصص لمعالجة مياه حمامات السباحة وتم إلقاء الضوء على التحاليل الكيميائية للمياه المستخدمة في الصناعة في الفصل السابع، وبهذا يكون قد تم تناول جميع تقنيات تنقيه المياه العذبة والمالحة للاستخدامات الصناعية والدوائية والمعلية وتغذية الغلايات لانتاج بخار الماء اللازم لانتاج الطاقة الكهربية والكثير من الصناعات.
