إن الكتاب محاولة ناجحة لجمع عناصر مختلفة توالت في الزمن وقدمت لحقبة قضائية مكتظة بالمحاكمات الإستثنائية وغير المعتادة والتي لم تترك لبنانياً غير مبال بما يدور فيها. وقد تجمعت أثناءها وحولها مواقف وآراء متضاربة وغير مجردة من الهوى الشخصي في كثير من الاحيان، فلقيت ترحيباً وإشادة من هنا ونعيت بمناسبتها مبادئ العدالة والمساواة، من هناك، واستعملت فيها وسائل دفاعية غير مألوفة ولم تكن كلها مما يلحظه قانون المحاكمات.
والخلاصة أن الكتاب من شأنه أن يوفر للناس-واللبنانيين بوجه خاص-مراجعة مختصرة ولكنها جامعة لأهم الوقائع التي عرفوها في حينها والتي توالت زمنياً ما قبل "مؤتمر الطائف".
الكتاب يقرأ بشغف وهو جدير بأن يحفظ بعدئذ في مكان مميز في مكتباتنا كوثيقة قيمة عن حقبة من تاريخنا، نعود إليها لنلقي جواباً عن أية تساؤلات قد تطرح حول الموضوع المعنى به فيها.
