في هذا الرواية يتفاعل فيها الحكيم مع القاتل، والسوي مع الفاسد، والفاضل مع المنحرف، ومفهوم الله مع فهم الإنسان، والسعادة مع المجد الاجتماعي، والحب مع الاستغلال، والسلوكية السياسية مع مأساة الجغرافيا.
مفاهيم كثيرة تتناغم وتتنافر في هذه الرواية التي تجعل القارئ في بعض الأحيان كأنه يغرق في "الكلمات المتقاطعة" حيث يبحث عن مرادف لنفسه ومرادف لمن يعرفهم أو يتعرف عليهم.
