"التفت الروائيون لظاهرة الاعتقال، وللسجون، وكتبوا من الروايات قدرا ليس بالنزر. وتأتي دراسة الباحثة جمانة صوان لتسلط الضوء على هذه التجارب، بالالتفات لروايات تمثل أقطارا عربية مختلفة، متوقفة إزاء روايات لكتاب معروفين يحتلون مواقع رفيعة في الرواية العربية من أمثال: عبد الرحمن منيف، ومحمد الماغوط، وهاشم غرايبة، وسالم النحاس، ويوسف زيدان، وغيرهم... مما يضيف لهذه الدراسة أهمية على أهميتها المستمدة من الموضوع. و اللافت أن جمانة صوان لا تقتصر في دراستها هذه على تتبع عالم السجين، وهمومه، من حيث هو بطل روائي حسب، بل تتبعت ذلك أيضا من خلال البحث في علاقته بالآخر السجان، وعلاقته بالآخر الغريم، أو الرفيق، والآخر الأنثى. ولا يفوتها أيضا أن تعنى بالقضايا الفنية، والتقنيات السردية، واللغوية، التي تتجلى في روايات قامت بدراستها دراسة نقدية نصية تعنى بالنص قبل أي شيء آخر. ولا ريب في أن الشخصيات التي يتقدمها في هذا النوع من الروايات السجين، تحظى بأهمية قصوى في الرواية، ولأجل ذلك عنيت الباحثة بالشخوص، وتتبعت مناهج الكتاب في رسمهم ملامح الشخصيات. وهذا كله، أو بعضه، كاف للدلالة على أن دراسة المؤلفة عن فضاء السجن في الرواية العربية دراسة نقدية حقيقية تستحق هذه التسمية بجدارة. والله نسأل أن ينتفع بهذا الجهد العلمي، والأدبي، طلبة الدراسات الأدبية، واللغوية، والمهتمون بالرواية، والروائيين، والمهتمون بالحرية هاجسًا ونداءً يكمن فيه المفتاح الذي يفضي إلى سعادة الإنسان، لا إلى متعة السجان. أ. د. إبراهيم خليل"
