إن الدور العلمي والفني الذي ساهمنا به في مسرح الطفل منذ عام 1969 لوضعه في مساره الصحيح، سواء عن طريق الدراسات والبحوث النقدية، أو عن طريق الإخراج لمسرحيات فيه متنوعة الاتجاهات التوجهات، يدفعنا إلى مزيد من الأمل في البحث وخوض التجارب رغم مخاطر الطريق.
فحاجتنا ملحة للوعي بقيمة وجدية هذا المسرح في تربية فلذات أكبادنا، وبوجوب تكوين طفلنا تكوينًا سويًا يواجه به تحديات العصر، وبالتالي فلابد أن ندفع بهذا المسرح أن يقوم بدوره الحضاري. وهذا الكتاب- وهو محاولة متواضعة لبلوغ الهدف- يتكون من مباحث ثلاثة: المبحث الأول يتناول النشأة الحقيقية العلمية الأولى لمسرح الطفل والشباب في العالم وتطوره التاريخي عبر عقود القرن العشرين في أوروبا وأسيا وأفريقيا تحت مختلف نظمها السياسية ومناخها الثقافي، المبحث الثاني: عرض للمحاولات الجادة والمتعثرة لمسارح الطفل والشباب- عملية وإبداعية- وسمات التحديث والتجريب فيه في ثماني دول أوروبية وأفريقية وأسيوية وأمريكية، وإلقاء الضوء على بعض المحاولات الجادة في مصر العربية، المبحث الثالث: عرض وتحليل نقدي لنماذج مختارة من مسرح الطفل والشباب الإيراني والإنجليزي والإيطالي والهولندي والبرتغالي والألماني والسويدي وقد اخترنا من المسرح المصري أربعة نماذج جادة ناضجة لأربعة مؤلفين معاصرين أثروا حركة هذا المسرح الوليد وتشرف المؤلف أن يكون مخرجًا لها جميعًا.
إن مسرح الطفل- أعظم منجزات القرن العشرين- إذ ورث كل علومه وفنونه، لم يتجاوز عمر إنسان، ورغم ذلك أصبح له ومنذ نشأته تاريخه الخاصبه وتجاربه التي لم يعلن بها فقط عن نفسه، بل وفرض بها إرادته ووجوده التربوي والتعليمي على المستوى العالمي، وأصبح له منظماته التي ترعاه ومهرجاناته التي تدفعه إلى التطور، واكتشافاته التي أصبحت من أهم سمات التجريب فيه.
فهل نستطيع أن نلحق به ليساهم في محاولاتنا الجادة للاهتمام بطفلنا- جزء حاضرنا وكل مستقبلنا- نرجو ذلك..
