ريتشارد دوكينز عالم أحياء تطورية، ولد في كينيا عام 1941 ودرس علم دراسة الحيوان في جامعة أوكسفورد وأصبح لاحقاً محاضراً فيها، وقد أثبت حضوره ككاتب متميز من خلال طرحه أفكاراً معقدة بأسلوب بسيط في معظم كتبه، أسس مؤسسة ريتشارد دوكينز للعلم والعقل، والتي تدعو مجتمع العلماء حوال العالم للإنخراط بشكل أكبر في قضايا المجتمع.
