ولم يجد صاحب السيرة منفذا ولا وسيلة ، يجد بها مكانا لقدمة إلا التعليم والتثقيف ، فبدأ من الصفر ، وتسلح بالإرادة والعزم وكل التصميم والتحدى ، إلى ان حصل على درجة الليسانس فى القانون بتقدير جيد جدا. وهو العسكرى المتطوع ، ومع ذلك لم يشفع له التفوق فى الإلحاق بإحدى الوظائف المناسبة لمؤهله وتقديره ، فى سلك القضاء أو التدريس بالجامعة ، لأنه فلاح ابن فلاح ، ثم كانت البعثة ، واجتاز الاختبارات وسافر للخارج وعاد يحمل الدكتوراه وأصبح أستاذا للاقتصاد السياسى.
إن رواية الوسية عمل فريد جدير بالقراءة ، وهذه هى الطبعة لثانية ، ولقد أحسن التليفزيون المصرى صنعا عندما حولها إلى عمل درامى رائع عام 1990.
