L'ouvrage traite des aspects internationaux du droit de l'exécution forcée. Il examine les modalités du recouvrement international des créances en matière civile et commerciale. Ainsi, il explique comment des saisies peuvent être pratiquées en France sur le fondement d'un jugement étranger, ou comment le compte ouvert auprès de la succursale étrangère d'une banque opérant en France peut être saisi. La première partie présente les conditions dans lesquelles des titres exécutoires émis par des autorités autres que françaises (jugements étrangers, titres européens, décisions des juridictions internationales, sentences arbitrales, actes authentiques étrangers) peuvent être déclarés exécutoires en France et fonder l'intervention des organes d'exécution français. La seconde partie présente le régime des opérations d'exécution proprement dites dans un contexte international : saisies, injonctions judiciaires sous astreinte. Sont aussi examinés les obstacles à l'exécution que sont les immunités d'exécution et les préalables à l'exécution, à savoir la recherche de l'information patrimoniale et les notifications internationales.
