من الممكن أن يتمرد الطفل وأن يرفض عمل أي شيء، ويصبح عدوانيًا ويفعل ضد كل ما يقولونه له، ويصبح عنيفًا جدًا، عايزيني أذاكر، لأ مش هذاكر، عايزيني أنجح، لأ مش هنجح، عايزيني أبقى أخلاقي كويسة، لأ همشي مع أسوأ ناس وأعمل كل اللي انتوا بتكرهوه، لأن هناك صراع إرادات، إما أن أكسب أنا أو أنتم. وطالما لدي شيء أستطيع عمله، فسأقوم به، وسنرى في النهاية من سيكسب وتكون رحلة صراع مؤلمة وضارة للطرفين وتتراكم فيها، مشاعر سلبية عند الطفل تجاه الأبوين، وعند الأبوين تجاه الطفل، ويدخل الجميع في أزمة، لا يستطيعون الخروج منها، إلا لو دخل طرف ثالث، ليحل هذا الاشتباك، ويبدأ في إخراج هذه المشاعر السلبية التي تراكمت ومشاعر الصراع والعداء التي تكونت نتيجة لإصرار كل طرف على إلغاء إرادة الطرف الآخر. وهذا هو ما نتحدث عنه ونحاول فعله في هذا الكتاب.
