الصحة النفسية وفقاً لمنظمة الصحة العالمية تعني الحياة التي تتضمن الرفاهية والاستقلال والجدارة والكفاءة الذاتية بين الأجيال وإمكانات الفرد الفكرية والعاطفية ، كما أن منظمة الصحة العالمية نصت على أن رفاهية الفرد تشمل القدرة على إدراك قدراتهم والتعامل مع ضغوط الحياة العادية والإنتاج ومساعدة المجتمع . ومع ذلك فإن تعريف "الصحة العقلية" تختلف نتيجةَ للإختلاف الثقافي والتقييم الذ الصحة النفسية وفقاً لمنظمة الصحة العالمية تعني الحياة التي تتضمن الرفاهية والاستقلال والجدارة والكفاءة الذاتية بين الأجيال وإمكانات الفرد الفكرية والعاطفية ، كما أن منظمة الصحة العالمية نصت على أن رفاهية الفرد تشمل القدرة على إدراك قدراتهم والتعامل مع ضغوط الحياة العادية والإنتاج ومساعدة المجتمع . ومع ذلك فإن تعريف "الصحة العقلية" تختلف نتيجةَ للإختلاف الثقافي والتقييم الذاتي والتنافس في النظريات. الصحة السلوكية هي المصطلح الأمثل للصحة العقلية.
