تحاول هذه الدراسة - من خلال مواجهة النصوص الشعرية- البحث عن قيمة جديدة لشعر المديح في العصر العباسي. وتراها في تصوير الشعراء للمعارك التى خاضها الممدوحون ، وظهرت خلالها بطولاتهم ، حيث تقدم قصائدهم - في إطار ما تشتمل عليه رؤية فنية - تصويرا لعناصر الواقعة التاريخية ، وفي مقدمتها صورة الممدوح بوصفه أنموذج البطولة في مجتمعه الإسلامي ، وصورة الآخر أو النوذج المضاد الذي يغايره دينيا وثقافيا. فضلا عن رؤية الشاعر الخاصة لحركة التاريخ وتفسيره له ، فإن الشاعر لا يقدم - في قصديته - تاريخا محققا ن وإنما يعيد إنتاجه وفق مكوناته الخاصة ، ويقدم تأويلا له من خلال منظوره الذاتي. ويعني ذلك أن التاريخ في القصيدة غير التاريخ قبلها، فما نلتقي به في القصيدة ليس التاريخ / الأحداث الواقعية، وإنما هو التاريخ / النص، الذي أعيد إنتاجه - وفق آليات التأويل ، ووسائط الكتابة ، وخصائص الخطاب الشعري- عندما أخذ الشاعر يمارس عمله في التشكيل الفني بالتاريخ. مع ملاحظة أن الخطاب التاريخي نفسه خطاب تأويلي أيضا. وتظل الحقيقة أو الأصل - من منظور تفكيكي- دائما في إرجاء مستمر ، وليس بين أيدينا مطلقا سوى النصوص. و"ليس ثمة شئ خارج النص" ، كما يقول في عبارته الأثيرة. ويختار الباحث للمقاربة النصية قصيدتين مشهورتين لشاعرين كبيرين، هما: - بائية أبي تمام الطائي ، التى مطلعها : السيف أصدق أنباء من الكتب.. - و لامية المتنبي التى مطلعها : ليالي بعد الظاعنين شكول ... وتنظر هذه المقاربة إلى نص الشعري على أنه " مكتف بذاته ، فإذا كان هناك إرجاع خارجي ، فإنه لا يكون إلى الواقع. بل هو أبعد من هذا . ليس هناك إرجاع خارجي إلا إلى نصوص أخرى" . وتقرن الدراسة بين هاتين القصيدتين لتنتفع بما بينهما من تباين واختلاف في الكشف عن الملامح المميزة لكل منهما فإن كل شاعر رؤيته المتميزة للعالم وموقفه الخاص من الحياة والناس والأشياء ومنهجه المتفرد في صوغ عالمه الفني وتشكيل تجربته الشعرية.
