يفخر عميد عائلة النسيمي، ماجد، بكونه من أغنى رجال الأعمال في دبي، غير أنّه لا يلبث أن يعاني فجأةً من الكوابيس المتعلّقة بأخيه المتوفّى الذي استحوذ على أعماله وثروته، ويشعر أنّ سيطرته على العائلة قد تآكلت، مع اكتشافه أنّ ابنة أخيه وابنته تتحدّيان أوامره وسطوته. تركّز مريم على دراستها الجامعية في القاهرة، لتشقّ طريقاً يبعدها عن قبضة سيطرة عمّها الذي تكرهه، لكنّها تقع في حبّ زميلٍ لها يدعى عادل الشاب الذي قد يكون السبب في فشلها الحياتي، وفي هذه الأثناء تسعى دلال وهي الابنة المتمرّدة من الزوجة الثانية من زواجٍ سرّي لماجد أن تصبح مغنّية، في مجتمع يعتبرها مهنة مزدراة، وكانت تدرك، محقّةً، بأنّها ستجلب المهانة لأبيها. حين يسعى ماجد، على نحوٍ متزايد، إلى فرض سيطرته على دلال ومريم، تقاوم الفتاتان الأمر، ما يؤدّي إلى عواقب وأوضاع متفجّرة في الأسرة برمتها. هذه الرواية "الأنا الآخر" تمّت كتابة أحداثها على خلفية عالم الاستعراضات العربي الأخّاذ، والروابط الأسرية الهشة، وفرص الحرّيّة المثيرة.
