أصبح تناول موضوعات السياسة الخارجية الأمريكية فى أماكن مختلفة من العلم من القضايا التى ينبغى أن يدرسها المؤرخون لأهميتها فى التعرف على الأصول التاريخية لمسار وأهداف تلك تلك السياسة التى تزال تؤدى دورا ملحوظا فى عالم اليوم، وتأتى دراستنا فى البحث عن الاهتمام الأمريكى فى العراق خلال سنوات (1945 - 1958) تحمل طابعا خاصا بوصفها مؤشراً على اتساع المصالح الأمريكية وتطورها فى العراق مكانة استراتيجية فى المخططات الأمريكية على الصعيد الإقليميى والدولى وتنفرد هذه الدراسة عن سواها في محاولتها تسليط الضوء على الأنشطة الامريكية بالعراق على وثائق تمثلت فى محاضر مجلس النواب الملكي التى دعمت محتواها العلمى، وذلك بتزويد البحث بنصوص تاريخية لم تتح الفرصة لأصحاب المؤلفات الأخرى الإطلاع على معلوماتها بحكم غتيانها بحقائق جديدة أفادت الدراسة كثيرا.
