رأى المؤلف أن الفلاسفة قد اختلفوا كثيرا ورجال الدين المسيحي أيضا حول ذات الله فأراد أن يعرف الحقيقة بنفسه وأخذ يفكر كثيرا إلى أن وصل به تأمله والكتاب المقدس أن الله واحد فحسب فالكتاب المقدس لا ينبئ فقط أن الله لا شريك له ولا نظير وأنه لا أجزاء فيه ولا تركيب بل ينبئ في رأيه أن الله ليس واحدا فقط بل ثلاثه وأن الله قد تفضل على البشرية كلها في كونه تجسد في شكل إنسان حتى يستطيعوا التقرب منه بطريقة سهلة ويدركوه بعقولهم ببساطة.
