طال هذا الصراع سائر الناس وجموع الشعب، وسط انشغال تلك الجموع بتدبير سبل الحياة.. ووسط تدابير وقائية من عسف حرب مستعرة غالبتهم.
اشتدت الغارات الجوية، على الإسكندرية التي كانت أكثر المدن استهدافاً يليها القاهرة.
وقد روَّع السكان في الإسكندرية من توالى الغارات ولجأ الآلاف منهم إلى الهجرة إلى داخل البلاد ، وأنشأت الحكومة مخابئ عديدة في كل أنحاء القطر.
