يمثل اليهود إشكالية عرقية ودينية مثيرة للجدل منذ العصور القديمة، ورغم طبيعة التاريخ اليهودى الحافل بالإضطراب والحروب وسفك الدماء، ورغم قلة أعدادهم مقارنة المتاخمة لهم، إلا أن اليهود كان لهم أثر لافت فى مجرى حوادث التاريخ.
ومن خلال هذه الديباجة، تأتى أهمية هذا البحث الذى يتناول تاريخ اليهود القديم منذ ظهورهم الأول وعبر حقبة تاريخية تمتد إلى قرابة ألفى سنة منذ "عصر الآباء" - أو عصرالبطاركة - الذى يعده اليهود بمثابة بداية التاريخ اليهودى وحتى خراب أورشليم ودمار "الهيكل الثانى" - أو "هيكل هيرودس" - سنة 70م على يد الرومان، ثم قيام الروما بطرد اليهود من فلسطين، وتشرذم اليهود وشتاتهم كأقليات عرقية دينية فى بلدان الأرض، وهو ما يطلق عليه "الشتات الأخير".
وتأتى قيمة هذه الدراسة العلمية عن المراحل التاريخية لليهود من خلال الأحداث التى مرت على هذا الشعب الملئ بالمتناقضات، وما بين جينات الحقد والكراهية وكذلك عقد النقص وما بين الزعم بأنهم "شعب الله المختار".
لقد أرادت القوى الغربية من هذا الكيان العنصرى أن يكون شوكة فى ظهر العرب بعد أن تخلصوا من هؤلاء اليهود من بلادهم، ليكونوا خير عون للمصالح الغربية. ولهذا فإن هذه البلاد - وهى ذاتها التى ارتكبت جريمة قيام هذا الكيان - هى ذاتها التى تقدم له الحماية والدعم بكل الوسائل.
ولهذا فمن الواجب علينا فهم طبيعة هذا الكيان الصهيونى وسمات شعبه العدوانى من خلال ما مر به من أحداث فى تاريخه القديم... والتاريخ دوماً - يعيد نفسه.
