يتناول الكتاب أهم أسس الهوية وازدهار يدل على تماسك أهلها ورفعة حضارتهم، فإن رياح التغريب علينا قاصدة قوميتنا تارة وتتجه إلى منظومة قيمنا وثوابت أخلاقنا وديننا تارة لاقتلاع تراثنا الفكري والديني والأخلاقي ولكنها لغة محفوظة بالقرآن فهي مقدسة بمعنى مطهرة لأن كلام الله ولا نستطيع أن نغير فيه حرفًا والله وعد بحفظه فهذه الحماية تمتد إلى اللغة العربية.
وبينما لا يزيد عمر أية لغة حية الآن عن أكثر من أربعة أو خمسة قرون، نجد اللغة العربية هي اللغة الوحيدة التي استمرت سبعة عشر قرنًا أو ما يزيد فما زالت قادرة على الصمود والبقاء لتحافظ على استمرارية وجود هويتنا وقوميتنا، فاللغة العربية هي الشائعة في العصر الوسيط واللاتينية في عصر النهضة والانجليزية هي الشائعة في عالمنا المعاصر.
وبالعودة إلى تاريخ الإنسانية نجد أن اللغة المسجلة في الطب هي الهيروغليفية ثم لغة الإغريق ثم اللغة العربية فقد شهدت العصر الذهبي لقرون طويلة فالطب في أوربا اعتمد في بداياته على الطب العربي ثم بدأ عصر التجريب وأصبحت اللغات الأوربية هي لغة الطب في العالم. وفي عصر كلوت بك هو الذي أرسى فكرة التعريب للمؤلفات والمصطلحات الطبية فالتعليم بلغة أجنبية لا يحقق الفائدة المنشودة وعلى هذا المنوال سار تعليم الطب بالعربية.
كما يرى المؤلف أن العولمة هي الأخرى من أهدافها التغلغل والاختراق الحضاري للتأثير في الهوية الثقافية وخلخلتها من الداخل. فإن معظم المشكلات ليست نابعة من ذات اللغة العربية ومدى قدرتها على استيعاب كل ما هو جديد وحديث في مختلف جوانب العلم وتخصصاته لأن تراثنا وتاريخنا يشهدان أن اللغة العربية قد استوعبت كل ما هو جديد وحديث على مر العصور السابقة.
