من المعورف أنه قد أستعمل تعبير الايدولوجيا Ideology لأول مرة من قبل الفيلسوف الفرنسي ( ديستوت دي تراسي ) في نهاية القرن الثامن عشر . لقد وصف دي تراسي التعاليم حول الأفكار و حول نشوئها وحول قوانين الفكر الإنساني بالأيدولوجيا . و مع اسمي “ماركس ” أو ” أنجلز ” دخل تعبير الايديولوجيا العلم الاجتماعي كتعبير سوسيولوجي . لقد تم استعمال تعبير أيدولوجي من قبل مؤسسي الماركسية بصورة أساسية لمعنيين الأول للدلالة علي الوعي الخاطئي و التعبير المشوه عن الواقع الاجتماعي . و الثاني عندما أراد التأكيد علي تبعية حياة المجتمع الفكرية للواقع المادي واشتراطها به فاعتبرا الفلسفة و جميع التصورات السياسية والحقوقية للمجتمع ككل أو بطبقة معينة ايدولوجيا
