فرض الله الجهاد فريضة محكمة، ورغب فيها أعظم الترغيب، وأجزل ثواب المجاهدين والشهداء. بل جعل الجنة تحت ظلال السيوف وضاعف أجر النفقة في سبيله إلى سبعمائة ضعف وميز المجاهدين والشهداء يوم الأشهاد بوسام التفرد، فيتقدمون يومئذ إلى الناس بوجوههم المسفرة. فيشفعون لسبعين من أهل بيتهم وجعل آثار الجهاد وبركاته أن تنتظم به الدنيا والآخرة فهو باب من أبواب الجنة ومنجاة من الهم والغم في الدنيا. ولن تجد نظاماً قديماً أو حديثاً أو مدنياً عنى بشأن الجهاد والجندية واستنفار الأمة وحشدها كلها صفاً واحداً للدفاع بكل قواها عن الحق، كما تجد ذلك في دين الإسلام وتعاليمه. وآيات القرآن الكريم وأحاديث الرسول العظيم (صلى الله عليه وسلم) مليئة بكل هذه المعاني العالية وبأسلوب واضح يحث على الجهاد والقتال والجندية وتقوية وسائل الدفاع والكفاح بكل أنواعها. هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا جمع كل الآيات والأحاديث والآثار التي تتعلق بالجهاد والشهادة في سبيل الله والهجرة من دار الكفر إلى دار الإسلام ليتمكن المسلم من إقامة شعائر دينه وهو مطمئن على أهله وماله وولده.
